Myroslav Skoryk (13 July 1938 – 1 June 2020) was a Ukrainian composer and teacher. Skoryk studied composition and theory at the Lviv Conservatory between 1955 and 1960, then with Dmitri Kabalevsky at the Moscow Conservatory. During his time in Moscow, he composed music in a vast array of styles: symphonic, chamber, and vocal, some of which soon became popular pieces. Graduating from the Moscow Conservatory in 1964, Skoryk took a teaching job at the Lviv Conservatory, then at the Kiev Conservatory. His notable students include Osvaldas Balakauskas, Ivan Karabyts and Yevhen Stankovych.

Andrej Bielow (born 1981 in Ukraine) has developed as one of the leading Ukrainian musicians of his generation. Bielow studied with Michael Kusnetsov in Ukraine, with Krzysztof Wegrzyn at the University of Music and Drama in Hannover, and also with Gerard Poulet, Herman Krebbers, Ida Haendel, Ana Chumachenko and Alfred Brendel. As a soloist and chamber musician he has recorded over 20 CD albums for Naxos, CPO, Avi-Music, Hänssler Classics, Hänssler-Profil, Guttingi, Solo Musica, Genuin, Hyperion and Rakete Media. Bielow plays the violin "ex Flesch", built in 1745 by Lorenzo Guadagnini.
