Franz Krommer (27 November 1759 in Kamenice u Jihlavy – 8 January 1831 in Vienna) was a Czech violinist and composer of classical music. He was a violinist in the orchestra of the duke of Styria, and Maestro di Cappella for Duke Ignaz Fuchs, before succeeding Leopold Kozeluch as composer for the Imperial Court of Austria (from 1813 until his death in 1831). Krommer's output was prolific, with at least 300 published compositions in at least 110 opus numbers, including at least 9 symphonies, 70 string quartets, 15 string quintets, and many works for wind ensemble, for which he is best known today.

Peter-Lukas Graf (5 January 1929) is a Swiss flautist born in Zürich, Switzerland. He was a pupil of André Jaunet, and later attended the Paris Conservatoire, where he won first prize with Marcel Moyse and Roger Cortot. Besides playing the flute both in orchestras and as a soloist, he is a conductor, and spent several years exclusively as an orchestra and opera conductor. He is also a teacher, and has taught at the Basel Music Academy since 1973 and at the Music Academy Accademia Lorenzo Perosi in Biella. In 2005 Graf received an honorary doctorate from the Academy of Music in Kraków.

The Carmina Quartet is a Swiss string quartet, which was found in 1984. Its members include Matthias Enderle and Susanne Frank (violins), Wendy Champney (viola) and Stephan Goerner (cello). The Quartet's repertoire includes works by composers range from Classics period, such as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, to modern composers, such as Szymanowski, Schoeck and Shostakovich. Its recordings have won renowned awards: Gramophone Award, Diapason d’or, Choc and Grammy nominations. The Carmina Quartet is the Quartet in Residence at the Musikhochschule Zürich in Winterthur, Switzerland.
