Gustav Jenner (3 December 1865 – 29 August 1920) was a German composer, conductor and musical scholar. He was the only formal composition pupil of Johannes Brahms, and was Musical Director and conductor at the University of Marburg. As a composer Jenner concentrated on chamber music (three string quartets, a piano quartet, a trio for clarinet, horn and piano, three violin sonatas, a cello sonata and other works), choral pieces and songs. Other than his works for voice, few of these works were published in his lifetime. Jenner also published two volumes of recollections of Brahms, which are a valuable biographical source.

ReplyDeleteA fascinating composer!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!
But cannot see the link!
ReplyDeleteclearly demonic forces are at work in Ron's home ....
ReplyDeleteSome rogue AI, clearly ...
DeletetHANKS, but what happens to your other blog?
ReplyDeletewhere is the link?
ReplyDeleteYour other blog has missing links too. For example this one: Alexander Borodin; Modest Mussorgsky; Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov - Orchestral Works (Daniel Barenboim). I can't comment there because comments are disabled.
ReplyDeleteJorge - the link for the Barenboim/Chicago SO for the Borodin etc. is the center link after you click on the album - between 'https://www.paypal' and 'https://www.prestomusic' - the link has "GV9d" in it ....
ReplyDeleteSame problem here, and not only in this blog, but also in your other one. Links don't appear. I was checking the post 'Various Composers - Ricercare (Ssens Trio)' there and no links whatsoever. Hopefully you can fix that, Ronald. Many thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteMany of my comments (with links included) were incorrectly marked as spams and hidden from view. They can be easily recovered, I just have to check everyday then.
DeleteDamnation! What a hassle . . . .
DeleteIn your other one, Links don't appear. Hopefully you can fix that, Ronald. Many thanks in advance.
