Florent Schmitt (28 September 1870 – 17 August 1958) was a French composer. He was part of the group known as Les Apaches. At the age of 19 he entered the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Gabriel Fauré, Jules Massenet, Théodore Dubois, and Albert Lavignac. Schmitt wrote 138 works with opus numbers, in most of the major forms of music, except for opera. His most famous pieces are La tragédie de Salome and Psaume XLVII (Psalm 47). His own style, recognizably impressionistic, owed to the example of Debussy, and also had distinct traces of Wagner and Richard Strauss.

Biljana Urban studied at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music and the École Normale de Musique de Paris ‘Alfred Cortot’. She has served as artist in residence at California State University in Fresno and is currently collaborating with the exil.arte Centre at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Urban’s international performing career has taken her to such prestigious concert venues as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels. As a recording artist she has released three critically acclaimed albums for Grand Piano surveying the music of Jan Václav Voříšek.
