Vítězslava Kaprálová (24 January 1915 – 16 June 1940) was a Czech composer and conductor of 20th-century classical music. Her teachers include Vilém Petrželka, Zdeněk Chalabala, Vítězslav Novák, Václav Talich, Bohuslav Martinů, Charles Munch, and Nadia Boulanger. Her husband was the Czech writer Jiří Mucha, whom she married two months before she died. Despite her untimely death, Kaprálová created an impressive body of work that was admired by Rafael Kubelík and Rudolf Firkušný. Her catalogue includes her highly regarded art songs and music for piano solo, as well as concertos and orchestral works.

Marko Ivanović (born 1976 in Prague) is a Czech conductor. He studied at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts, where his teachers include Václav Riedlbauch, Radomil Eliška and Jiří Bělohlávek. From 2009 to 2014, he served as chief conductor of the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, and has been music director of the Janáček Opera of the National Theatre in Brno since 2015. Ivanović is a specialist in contemporary and 20th-century music. He has given a number of world premieres of Czech works, as well as the first performances in the Czech Republic of major contemporary pieces.
