Lyubomir Pipkov (September 6, 1904 – May 9, 1974) was a Bulgarian composer, pianist and music educator. He studied at the Sofia Music School and the École Normale de Musique in Paris, where he was a pupil of Paul Dukas and Nadia Boulanger. Pipkov was one of the founding members of the Union of Bulgarian Composers (SBK), along with Pancho Vladigerov and Petko Staynov. He established himself at the head of Bulgaria's musical establishment in the 1940s, and was the elected Chairman of the SBK from 1945 to 1954. Aside from his work as a composer and teacher, Pipkov was also active as a poet and critic.

Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin (23 April 1905 – 29 March 1977) studied at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien with Theo Lierhammer, and was a private student in composition with Joseph Marx. Since 1940, Cherkin served as lecturer at the State Academy of Music in Sofia, rising to professorship in 1944, and becoming rector (1948–54) and a dean of the vocal faculty (1960–74). He has also worked as vocal educator at the Conservatories in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. Cherkin is author of several operettas, many songs for voice with piano or orchestral accompaniment, and chamber music.

Lora Al-Ahmad (b. 1995) was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and studied with Alexander Vassilenko at the National Music School "Liubomir Pipkov". She has performed in numerous performances and events in her native city and country, including an appearance with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in Sofia. In 2013, Lora was accepted in the undergraduate program at Mannes College The New School for Music in New York City in the class of Pavlina Dokovska. In 2015 she made her debut at Carnegie's Weil Recital Hall as a soloist and chamber musician for the series of concerts "Musical Treasures in Bulgaria".
