Siegfried Wagner (6 June 1869 – 4 August 1930) was a German composer and conductor, the son of Richard Wagner. Through his mother, he was a grandson of Franz Liszt, from whom he received some instruction in harmony. After he completed his secondary education in 1889, he studied with Wagner's pupil Engelbert Humperdinck. Siegfried composed more operas than his father. Though his works are numerous, none entered the standard repertory. He was artistic director of the Bayreuth Festival from 1908 to 1930. After his death, he was succeeded at the helm of the festival by his wife Winifred.

He has made over 600 recordings for the Cologne, Bavarian and Northwest German Radio Networks. After recording all of the vast standard repertoire, he began to champion new composers and to research works that had never been recorded. In the process he earned the distinction of the most recorded artist in Germany.
