Sergei Prokofiev (23 April, 1891–March 5, 1953) was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor. As the creator of acknowledged masterpieces across numerous genres, he was one of the major composers of the 20th century. Prokofiev wrote seven completed operas, seven symphonies, eight ballets, five piano concertos, two violin concertos, a cello concerto, a symphony-concerto for cello and orchestra, and nine completed piano sonatas, many of which are widely known and heard. He also enjoyed personal and artistic support from a new generation of Russian performers, notably Sviatoslav Richter and Mstislav Rostropovich.

Rozhdestvensky is considered a versatile conductor and a highly cultured musician with a supple stick technique. ReplyDeleteAs before (halfway through the Langgaard posts), files do not open when you use zipansion and linkshrink.
ReplyDeleteI don't fully understand what you are talking about. Can you be more specific about "files do not open"?
DeleteThe files seem to download just fine, but none of the file-opening programs I use can open them. If I use Unarchiver, the prompt says "The contents of the file... can not be extracted." If I use XLD, the prompt says "No files to extract." I've tried several others with no success. Adfly and Linkshrink, by the way, work just fine.
ReplyDeleteI use Winrar 5.50 to make these files. It might be useful.
DeleteMany thanks for this bundle of Prokofiev 'rareties'. And indeed use / update to Winrar 5.5 or 5.6 (beta) and everything will work.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this great and rare recording! I always appreciate your repertoire offerings, Ronald.

files open fine - not sure what the Anon had issues with a couple of years ago.
