Joly Braga Santos (May 14, 1924 – July 18, 1988) was a Portuguese composer and conductor. He studied violin and composition at the National Conservatoire of Lisbon, and was a disciple of Luís de Freitas Branco. After the Second World War, he was able to go abroad, having studied conducting with Hermann Scherchen and Antonino Votto, and composition with Virgilio Mortari. Braga Santos was considered the leading Portuguese composer of the 20th century. He wrote six symphonies, three operas, chamber music for a wide variety of instruments and ensembles, film scores, and several choral works.

Gérard Caussé (born 26 June 1948 in Toulouse) is a French violist. He studied in Toulouse before entering the Paris Conservatory where he won first prize in viola and chamber music. Caussé was a member of the Via Nova Quartet, the Parrenin Quartet, the Ensemble intercontemporain, and has shared the stage with musicians such as Emmanuel Krivine, Charles Dutoit and Kent Nagano. His recordings include more than thirty-five issued for labels such as EMI, Erato and Philips. Caussé is professor of viola at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía. He plays an instrument made by Gasparo da Salo in 1560.

Spanish conductor Jesús Amigo graduated from the Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Conservatory in Bilbao, studying piano, composition and flute. He perfected his studies with Sergiu Comissiona and also learnt from Sergiu Celibidache and Carlo Maria Giulini. His career started as the leading conductor of both the Symphony Orchestra (1995-99) and the Contemporary Music Group of the Madrid Conservatory. In 2000 he was nominated as Artistic Director of the Extremadura Symphony Orchestra. Amigo's repertoire includes all styles and periods, from Baroque to contemporary, with special attention to Spanish music.
