Mieczysław Weinberg (8 December 1919 in Warsaw – 26 February 1996 in Moscow) was a Soviet composer of Polish-Jewish origin. From 1939 he lived in the Soviet Union and Russia and lost most of his family in the Holocaust. He left a large body of work that included twenty-two symphonies and seventeen string quartets. Weinberg's works frequently have a strong programmatic element. Throughout his life, he continually referred back to his formative years in Warsaw and to the war. Although he never formally studied with Shostakovich, the older composer had an obvious influence on Weinberg's music.

Alexandre Tansman (12 June 1897 – 15 November 1986) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of Jewish origin. He spent his early years in his native Poland, but lived in France for most of his life, being granted French citizenship in 1938. His music is often said to be primarily neoclassical, drawing on his Polish Jewish heritage as well as his French musical influences. Tansman wrote more than 300 works, including 7 operas, 11 ballets, 6 oratorios, 80 orchestral pages (with 9 symphonies), and numerous works of chamber and piano music. Almost all his works have been now recorded on CDs.

André Tchaikowsky (born Robert Andrzej Krauthammer, November 1, 1935 – June 26, 1982) was a Polish composer and pianist. A Jewish born in Warsaw, he escaped the Warsaw Ghetto with forged identity papers that renamed him Andrzej Czajkowski. Despite winning 8th award at the 1955 Chopin Competition and 3rd prize at the 1956 Queen Elisabeth Competition, Tchaikowsky’s greatest passion was still composition. He wrote 2 Piano Concertos, a String Quartet, a setting of Shakespeare's Seven Sonnets, a Piano Trio, piano music, and an opera. Tchaikowsky also made several recordings for RCA Victor and Columbia EMI.
