Daniel Weissmann studied violin and chamber music at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He also studied economics and management at the Université de Paris-Nanterre. After becoming enraptured with the beauty of the viola’s sound, Weissmann played the instrument in ensembles before deciding to devote himself to the discovery of the Baroque and Romantic works composed for the instrument. He also acted as artistic advisor and director for various musical institutions and projects. Since 2015 he has been managing director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège.
