Ye Xiaogang (叶小纲; born 1955 in Shanghai) is regarded as one of China’s leading contemporary composers. He studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in China and the Eastman School of Music. His teachers include Mingxin Du, Samuel Adler, Joseph Schwantner, Louis Andriessen and Alexander Goehr. Ye has composed a large number of works in a variety of genres, including symphonic, chamber, dance– drama and opera pieces, as well as film and TV music. His music can be found on EMI Classics, Wergo, Hugo, Naxos, BIS, Delos and Deutsche Grammophon, among others.

Lü Jia (吕嘉; born 1964 in Shanghai) is an Italian conductor. He studied conducting at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and then at the University of Arts in Berlin. Lü has worked as music director for the Florence Symphony Orchestra (Italy), the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (Sweden), the Orchestra della Toscana (Italy), the Verona Arena (Italy), and the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (Spain). He is currently artistic director and chief conductor of the China National Center for the Performing Arts, and music director and chief conductor of the Macao Orchestra.
