Mélanie Bonis (21 January 1858 – 18 March 1937), was a French late-Romantic composer. Of great talent and musical sensitivity, she taught herself the piano, before attending the Paris Conservatoire, where her teachers included Cesar Franck, Ernest Guiraud, and Auguste Bazille. In the 1890s, her career started to take off. Bonis became a member of the Société des compositeurs de musique, and was a very prolific composer. She wrote more than 300 pieces, including works for piano solo and four hands, organ pieces, chamber music, mélodies, choral music, a mass, and works for orchestra.

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, pianist Diana Sahakyan studied at the Spendiaryan Music School, the State Conservatory in Yerevan, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, the Summer Academy of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and the Escuela Superior de Mùsica Reina Sofia in Madrid. In addition, she took part in master classes with such renowned musicians as Robert Levin, Olivier Gardon, Dmytri Bashkirov and Helmut Deutsch. In the course of her artistic career, Sahakyan has received numerous awards as a prizewinner at international competitions. Her debut album was released in 2022.
